Costa Rica 2024: Day 2

Hi again, Everyone!
Our second day at La Montaña included lots of kitchen prep, dish washing, and more cabin cleaning, as well as painting, moving gravel and pouring concrete at the low ropes course. Everyone is healthy, happy, and hardworking! La Montaña is taking excellent care of us!

Costa Rica 2024 Day 4

Its been another great day in Costa Rica's beautiful Cloud Forest! As usual, we began our day with a delicious breakfast cooked by the amazing staff at La Montaña. Then it was off to work: finishing the painting of the handrails around the currently-drained lower lake and pouring concrete to help get the lake ready for refilling. Once the morning work was done, we got to experience life as tourists! We were treated to a traditional Costa Rican lunch at a local restaurant followed by a zipline tour through the jungle. A great time was had by all!  After our zipline adventure, we enjoyed tasting some Costa Rican snacks and bought a few souvenirs before heading back to camp.  One of the joys of working at La Montaña has been getting to hear the life stories of many of the people who work and live on the property. Costa Rica 2024 Day 3

Lots of excitement (and wildlife photo ops!) today as we supervised the Young Life campers' Jungle Mud Run, helped them move their luggage onto their busses, cleaned up the cabins that they vacated this morning, poured more concrete, moved a large pile of old wood, washed walls around the camp, and did some more painting.  We had a fun afternoon swimming in the lake and also enjoyed a few hours of free time in the gym after dinner. It was a great way to end a busy day!  The younger kids you see in our pictures are the children of La Montaña camp employees. We've so enjoyed getting to know the amazing staff here and playing with their sweet little ones!  Photos from Day 3
